Summer of the Bible

A SECOND LEVEL SCHOOL AT YWAM MONTANA

Course Description.

Summer of the Bible is a Biblical Core Course offered in the Mountains of Montana near the shores of Flathead Lake. Spend the summer with us in God’s word and God’s creation as we explore the heart of God through his word and the work of God through His creation!

This Biblical Core Course takes you through the entire Bible in 12 weeks through reading and inductive study. You will learn to hear the word of God from the context in which it was written while discovering what the word means in the often confusing context of today.

Each weekend is an opportunity to meditate on what you have learned and to absorb God’s word surrounded by the beauty of His creation. The Summer of the Bible is also available simultaneously online for those who are not able to join us in person.

Online students will work at the same speed and will participate in the same classes as the onsite students, participating with them in discussion and one on one discipleship.

Lecture.

A student can expect about 9 hours of lecture per week as well as group discussion and one on one time with their staff. You will learn about the historical and literary context of the books you are studying allowing you to see these books through the eyes of those who first read them. You will also learn the inductive method of Bible study which will give you the tools to interpret the Bible according to what was written and intended by the author. Each week you will do a deep dive into one of the Books of the bible along with your regular reading.

Outreach.

There is an optional outreach for the Summer of the Bible course. The outreach is an opportunity to put into practice all that you have learned through the 12 weeks of your lecture phase. This is a chance to share what God has shown you and also a chance to obey the great commission!

Vision.

In a world without hope, the word of God brings us the best news ever. In the Summer of the Bible core course, we focus on the word of God which is the source of true hope. The word of God is an unchanging foundation in an ever-changing world. Knowing God’s word teaches us God’s heart, to know God is to know peace.
Ultimately we want to know God and make Him known to a suffering world.
